Stricter Measures Enforced Against Violators of Code of Conduct as Code of Conduct Team Gathers at Municipal Headquarters

Panvel, April 4: Today, on April 4th, at the Municipal Headquarters, a pivotal meeting of the Code of Conduct team took place to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process in the 33 Maval Lok Sabha Constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha General Election 2024. Led by Additional Commissioner Bharat Rathod, the team included Group Development Officer Sanjay Bhoye, Control Officer Taluka Agriculture Officer Sharad Geete, and witnessed the presence of Chief Assistant Administration Officer Gulab Baliram.

During the session, detailed directives were issued to the police officers of six squads and other staff members emphasizing the stringent enforcement of the model code of conduct. In alignment with the guidance of the Assistant Election Decision Officer for 33 Maval, six flying squad have been activated to prevent any breaches of the code of conduct within the 188 Panvel assembly constituencies.

Efforts are underway to closely monitor the distribution of alcohol and any illicit activities aimed at influencing voters, inspect suspicious vehicles, seize questionable items, and initiate necessary legal actions. To facilitate reporting of code violations, citizens have been encouraged to utilize the CIVIGIL app, resulting in the resolution of ten complaints received since the code's implementation.

   Furthermore, a case has been filed for a breach of the code of conduct, underscoring the importance of adherence to the regulations. Authorities have reiterated that stringent actions will be taken against those found violating the model code of conduct.

   During the meeting, the flying squad officers were directed to take decisive steps against any violators of the code of conduct, while addressing their concerns and queries. The officials expressed satisfaction with the team's diligent efforts, reflecting a positive outlook on their effective functioning."
