Save water as you save money
Save water as you save money
Water is a basic lifesaving and valuable part
on the earth. The importance of it is,
yet to realize by the people who suppose to safeguard its sources either in
village or elsewhere in vicinity across its boundaries. Most of the potential water
sources lay far in hilly bed of forest. Well, bore wells are other water
sources conversely natural and reservoir unprotected or either destroyed.
Especially the tap water is a common source
for household in urban set up. Several governments’
water projects are being in progress in rural area, some are running well, yet number
of such projects is unfunctional. Water
quality and storage tank capacity is another challenge for many villages. A far-flung
scattered hamlet suffers water scarcity throughout the year.
A fund to water project is short. People’s
contribution does not meet the government” rules and on other side raising fund
is not possible to villagers who hardly meet their daily needs. Single earning person
and five to ten dependent in household, so financial limits does not allow a
family head to have what they want or need.
Walking miles to fetch water is only alternative
remains for the families. Inadequate and contaminated water intended to drink
for thousands of poor family in remote villages. The result leads to outbreak
of health ailment and epidemic which mount extra load on family head and result
is losing of money. So Just a few liter of water creates havoc.
The country like India has a host of social
evils conflicts where equality and unity barely justified. The innocent and poor people victimizes at the
hands of dominating peers that bully them to live a marginalize life.
Political
and social conflicts are hurdle. Settlement can make the change in villages; this
will speed up to excel its full strength.
It suggests conflicts oriented villages are
not in a proper position of making up. There is rift among villages that divide the
fabric of unity owing to political discrepancies and thus the result ends the
project. The series of suffering episode begins to
panic the entire community without predictions.
Water is a basic need but it poses a
problem. Water harvesting is a perfect
solution to get rid of the crisis. If
every household harvest rains water, averagely it can collect 200 liter each
day. Roughly in 60 days, one can collect 12000 liter water only from rainwater. For Good two month one can use the arrested water
in the time of scarcity. One can collect more water; of course, it depends on rainfall
frequency and storage capacity.
Despite
heavy rainfall in Raigad of Konkan region, people ignore water harvesting;
rather it gives vent to streams or rivers.
Water harvesting means saving time, money and energy. Constant water
availability is a reliable and sustainable solution for water crisis.
Water literacy and management is a key to
bottleneck the challenges. Water must equally treat as money. Saving and using
water as each ones need is an almost possible exercise. The administration must
gear up to make sure whether people are using water according to their need or
wasting it.
Water management involves vision: Meter
is better choice to deliver water to every household is possible. Take an
example of electricity, gas, the money we deposit and withdraw. We do not waste
money but sensibly use it according to our need. Two hundred liter clean or
filtered water each household, each day is a recommended guideline. When will we learn to save water and use it as
sensibly as we use money?
The
dependency on government schemes is high on Indian minds rather than developing
own technique. Harvesting rainwater and
preserving existing water sources are an urgent need of the time. Sensitizing
people to change mind-set and attitudes is more important than to invest money
and strength on projects
