JNPA's School Infrastructure Project: Empowering Students with Health and Hygiene Awareness


Under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), the "JNPA-School Infrastructure Project" organized a one-day awareness camp on August 16, 2024, at the Raigad District Council School in Karanjkhol, Mahad Block, Raigad District, Maharashtra. The event was conducted by the social organization "SATHEE," benefiting the school's students.

Health, Hygiene, and Cleanliness Education

During the camp, Mr. Ganesh Shriram Khatu, a renowned health expert, provided comprehensive information to the students and teachers about health, hygiene, and cleanliness. The session focused on topics such as:

 Balanced diet

Body hygiene

Importance of hand and dental cleanliness

The Principal and teachers of the school praised the efforts of "SATHEE" and expressed a desire for similar programs to continue in the future.

Importance of Cleanliness for a Brighter Future

The chief guest emphasized the significance of raising awareness about cleanliness among students in government schools. He highlighted that the future of society depends on these children, and a healthy and aware generation will lead to a brighter future. The chief guest expressed happiness about the awareness camp organized by "SATHEE" with the support of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, noting the substantial benefit it will bring to the students.

Role of Cleanliness in Disease Prevention

Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Director of "SATHEE," explained that dirt is the root cause of many diseases. He emphasized that embracing cleanliness helps prevent various infectious diseases. He encouraged the students to adopt cleanliness in their lives and maintain a clean environment and daily personal hygiene.

The event was attended by the school's Principal, teachers, members of the school committee, and other distinguished guests. The presence of these individuals demonstrated the importance of the awareness camp and the commitment to promoting health and hygiene among the students.

The JNPA-School Infrastructure Project's awareness camp on health, hygiene, and cleanliness was a resounding success. The students and teachers gained valuable knowledge and insights that will help them maintain good health and hygiene practices throughout their lives. The project's commitment to empowering students with essential life skills is commendable and will undoubtedly contribute to their overall well-being and the development of a healthier society.
