Tragedy Strikes at Ghatkopar: Seeking Accountability and Justice for Victims

In Mumbai, the city's first pre-monsoon rainfall hit on Monday afternoon. During this time, a 100-foot-tall unauthorized billboard collapsed in Ghatkopar's eastern suburb due to strong winds and thunderstorms. Sadly, this incident resulted in the loss of at least 14 lives and left 74 others injured. Currently, 44 of the injured individuals remain under medical care, with one person in critical conditions.

In a heart-wrenching incident that has shaken the city of Mumbai, a massive billboard tragically collapsed onto a petrol pump  area in Ghatkopar, claiming the lives of several individuals. This devastating accident has left behind a trail of grief and unanswered questions, with the community demanding accountability and justice for the victims.

The Need for Accountability

The government's response to such incidents has often been limited to offering compensation to the grieving families. While financial reparations can provide some solace, the loss of a breadwinner's life is a wound that transcends monetary compensation.
